She grew up in the country reading fairy tales, Little House on the Prairie, Babysitter’s Club, Mandie, & Sweet Valley High.
Janette Oke, Grace Livingston Hill, Hilda Stahl, Lori Wick, and Traci Peterson introduced her to the romance world. Mail Order Brides was her favorite storylines. More recently she spends her time reading in the world of Regency.
The Medieval era has always fascinated her. Both the real history and the fairy tales intrigue her. Writing in this era gives her the best of those worlds with the stories she dreams up.
She and her husband have their own second chance romance story.
When DaLeena is not reading or writing, she can be found homeschooling her children, teaching in their homeschool co-op, helping her husband in their trucking business or one of the many tasks that living in the country requires. She calls Oklahoma home. She secretly enjoys sentence diagramming. Dreams of visiting Ireland one day. She is obsessed with Tinkerbell, fairies, anything purple, music and during baseball season she almost never misses watching her Atlanta Braves play.
